Know your audience

A person makes a presentation and the audience is completely confused. They have no clue what the presenter is saying, or what the presenter wants.

A person makes a presentation and it’s extremely well received. Total clarity, outcome accomplished.

Interestingly, both presentations were made by the same person and in each case the presenter said the same thing.

What was the difference? Different audiences.

In the first presentation the person used technical terms to a non technical audience and it made no sense. In the second presentation, the person used technical terms to a technical audience and there was complete understanding.

It’s important to know your audience and tailor your presentations accordingly.

Just something to think about

Have a great day!
