Recently I purchased a whiteboard on amazon.com from one of their third party re-sellers.

The day after placing my order I received an email from the seller recommending a type of marker that works best for that type of white board. The link they provided wasn’t part of the amazon affiliate program and was for a product from a large company unconnected to the whiteboard seller.

I thought the idea of recommending a product that would make my experience with their product even better was brilliant. I assume the email I received was a form email, so it took virtually no time or effort and they were working to make sure that I would have a positive experience with their product and company.

When looking at your business, are there ways to do something similar?
