People prepare for events. For example, if a person has to make a presentation, they prepare their PowerPoint (or something equivalent), they prepare their thoughts, they prepare their order, they prepare their clothes etc. If everything works as planed, they are READY!
The problem is when everything doesn’t work as planned (and let’s be honest here, does it ever work exactly as planned?). What happens when the projector or digital display doesn’t work? What happens when instead of 20 people there are 200 people? What happens when you are expecting to present to a group of middle managers and instead the entire board of directors show up?
You can never prepare for every scenario but be prepared for the “what if” as much as possible.
