Busy vs Productive

Henry David Thoreau wrote “It is not enough to be busy. So are the ants. The question is: What are we busy about?”

There are a lot of people who base their value on the number of hours worked and in the technology industry it’s not unusually to hear the brag of “I pulled another all nighter” or “I’m working 80 hours a week) etc.

The question one must ask them is are they being productive or just being busy?

If someone can accomplish everything in 6 hours is it more impressive if it takes someone else 12 hours?

Let’s focus more on being productive as opposed to being busy.

Have a great day!
