Micro vs Macro

In economics people frequently look at micro vs macro. Micro economics is how something affects a person or group. Macro economics is how something affects a nations economy.

It’s important to understand that this concept applies to many other areas as well. As an example, most medical doctors are working at the micro level, dealing with their patients. Medical researchers are dealing with the macro level trying to find cures for the entire population.

When it comes to causes that I want to support I tend to go toward the macro level ones but it’s important for me to remember that many of the macro ones are working for the the long term and the short term does matter as well.

We need people focused on the long term and others focused on the short term to make the world a better place.

Have a great day!
