Training personnel is important.
Unfortunately, organizations frequently ignore a key component of training which is the trainer. Too often organizations either pick someone who either isn’t good enough to do something else or they are good at the task so the assumption is if they can do the task they can teach the task.
Just because someone is a good basketball player doesn’t mean they will be a good coach.
Just because someone is a good salesperson doesn’t mean they will be a good sales manager.
Being a good trainer takes industry knowledge, understanding of the education process, being an effective communicator and much more.
Don’t shortchange the trainers in your organization, they can be invaluable.
Have a great day!
