It’s easy to look at other peoples jobs and think “I could do that”. Because of this, people can occasionally make some bad business decisions without understanding the complexities of the matter.
As an example, someone might be a great cook at home so they think they can open a restaurant. The problem is that cooking for 6 people is a lot different then cooking for 600. Cooking 1 meal is a lot different then being able to time and prepare an entire menu. Understanding inventory management, pricing, customer service, marketing, AR, AP, HR and many issues makes it lot more then just knowing how to cook.
Be very careful before going into a new industry, you will quickly learn all of the things you don’t know.
Have a great day!
