Controlling your inventory is an important but sadly neglected part of many businesses.
If you don’t know how much you have it’s extremely difficult to figure out how to allocate resources, make plans, budget etc.
The people who control their inventories best can make much better decisions than the others (for many years, WalMart had a great technological advantage over their competition when it came to inventory).
The key here is to realize inventory should be tracked for materials, finished product, peoples hours and as many things as you possibly can.
