Why and not just what

When people ask for a new feature or service it’s important to find out why they want it and not just what they want.

The most famous example would be back in the early 1900’s people would have been requesting faster horses which if people had just looked at the “what” and not the “why” might have resulted in horse and buggies that were more aerodynamic or better feed for the horses as opposed to looking at the “why” and realized people wanted better transportation and this the emphasis on the automobile.

Find out the reason behind peoples requests and you will be able to provide much better products or services.

Have a great day!
