When organizations do their yearly planning (goal setting, mission statements etc) they tend to set big goals and while it might seem intimidating, there is a better way to look at these things.
Take the big numbers (how much revenue you need to generate for the year) and break it down by month, week and by work day. Go even further and break it down by worker hour and now you know what each person must make, each hour they work, in order to achieve this goal.
The first thing that gets accomplished by doing this is to make it seem more realistic (a smaller number might seem easier to accomplish than the big number) but it also makes it easier to track. If a person isn’t making their number, they need to step it up or other options might need to be taken.
