Is double the effort the answer?

It takes X amount of time and effort to get from Point A to Point B. If Point C is just as far away should we assume that using the same time and effort should get us to Point C? From a logical standpoint it would seem to be the case. Reality is it doesn’t always work that way.

If you have gone from 0 sales to 100 sales, simply doubling the effort usually doesn’t double the sales.

The manager who successfully brought your organization to a certain level might not be the person who can take you to the next level.

A car might be able to go from 0 to 80 MPH easily but that same car probably can’t go from 80 to 160 MPH. If you need to get to 160 MPH that will require a completely different vehicle.
