Many people use To Do lists to manage their projects. It’s an effective way to keep track of what still needs to be done but it’s really not enough.
When managing others I do want to see their To Do lists (and they should be ordered by priority with due dates etc) but I also want to see their “To Done” lists (I realize that isn’t the correct term but it’s basically a way to track the things that are already finished) and most importantly the Overdue lists (items from the previous To Do lists that are past their due dates)
If I can see the To Do lists, the To Done lists and the Overdue lists I have a pretty good idea of where things are in various projects and can avoid unnecessary meetings to get updates since this type of information is readily available.
