Make it easy

A few weeks ago I was at a local restaurant/bar listening to music and was watching the bartender interacting with the customers.

Rather than asking a customer if they want a refill of their wine glass, or asking if they would like another bottle of beer and then if they say yes going to get the refill, he would have the bottle with him and right before pouring, he would ask “would you like a refill?” (or something similar). It was amazing how easy it was for someone to say yes but if he didn’t have the bottle with him, it would have been much easier for the customer to say “no”. He made it as easy as possible for the customer to say yes and as a result, the bar sells more drinks and he gets more tips.

Do you make it as easy as possible for someone to order from you?

Do you assume they will want to order so leave it to them to make the effort to do so or do you make sure they know the option is always there and make it as easy as possible?

Amazon.com makes it extremely easy to order from them. Zappos.com makes it extremely easy to order from them.

Do you make it extremely easy for others to order from you? If not, should you?
