When negotiating (and we all negotiate everyday), you lose strength if you aren’t willing to say no.
If you are talking to a car dealer and the dealer knows you desperately want the care, you lose negotiating strength.
If you are looking at buying a company and aren’t willing to walk away if the price or terms are too high, you lose your negotiating power.
The ability and willingness to say no is frequently the difference between having power and being at the mercy of the other side.
Be willing to say no, it doesn’t mean you have to say no but being willing to opens up a lot of opportunities.
